Trucks for Maddox has partnered with the Eye Care Clinic at UPMC Children’s to create the Trucks for Maddox Optical Assistance Fund. This fund helps give children the gift of clearer vision and families financial relief to do so.
Can you imagine what it would be like to be the parent of a child who is unable to see clearly? This is a reality for many Pittsburgh families who cannot afford corrective lenses for their children.
The UPMC Children’s Eye Clinic estimates that 15-20 children seen at the clinic per month are declined for eyeglasses coverage by their insurers.
The Trucks for Maddox Optical Assistance Fund will allow the Eye Clinic to ensure that all children have access to the eyeglasses they need, especially if their family is experiencing financial hardship.
Based on the average number of families seen in the Eye Clinic, about 10 children per month, or 120 per year, will qualify to take advantage of The Trucks for Maddox Optical Assistance Fund. In the past three years, we have provided eyeglasses to over 1,500 children!
We are grateful to be able to give back to the Pittsburgh community who has faithfully supported Trucks for Maddox. We hope that you can join us as we continue to grow this initiative.
